Why I’m Running
I'm Ron McKenzie, and I’m running for Congress because, like many of you, I believe our country is in crisis. The issues facing our nation today aren’t just political; they’re personal. I grew up in a working-class home. My father is an Army veteran who has spent most of his civilian life as a security guard, and my mother works as a medical billing appeals clerk at Children's Hospital, fighting insurance companies daily to ensure kids receive the care they need. I am not a career politician. I am someone who understands the everyday struggles families face; not from policy briefs, but from lived experience.
Trump is aggressively using the power of the presidency to take care of his billionaire buddies and deliberately make life harder on everyday Americans. This is no time for politics as usual. This moment demands leaders ready to fight fiercely to protect our rights, freedoms, and future.
I haven’t spent my career working my way up through party politics. I’ve spent it solving problems, helping people, and showing up when it matters. In my professional life, I've helped organizations solve some of their most complex challenges, root out fraud, and build cultures of accountability. When the pandemic struck, I stepped up, working tirelessly to help companies transform their operations to keep their doors open and save jobs. These experiences are more than bullet points on a resume. They've shaped my ability to dissect complex issues, build effective strategies, and deliver tangible results. Washington is broken, captured by special interests and filled with too many politicians afraid to make the hard choices or do the work required to protect and advance the interests of everyday Americans. We need leaders ready to take action and bring real solutions. I’m ready!
My Priorities
Our campaign is about a "Do More Agenda," focused on delivering concrete solutions directly addressing challenges our neighbors face daily. My top priorities emerge directly from our community’s core needs: building an economy that truly works for working people; aggressively lowering the crushing cost of living burdening households; protecting and expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare; championing women's rights and healthcare; and supporting our young men by investing in mentorship, mental health and real solutions that give young men the tools they need to build a better future.
